The warmest of Lancashire welcomes
Set in the picturesque village of Parbold, between Ormskirk and Standish, the Windmill has been serving fine food and ales since 1794. With roaring log fires, a welcoming crowd and friendly staff, this is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We’re in the centre of the village on the banks of the Leeds to Liverpool canal and welcome all-comers – bargies, anglers, dog-walkers and many more. Pop in and find out what makes us special.

They say a fine ale needs a skilled cellarman and clean pipes – and we have both. In fact, we’re so passionate about the merits of a good pint that we’re about to launch our own brewery. From dark bitters to hoppy craft lagers, we’ve got everything covered. Drop by and slake your thirst.
They say self-praise is no praise at all, so see what others think about our great service, delicious grub and great selection of beers and wine. And why not share your own opinion whilst you’re at it? If you think we can improve anything, please let us know.
We offer the finest seasonal produce, sourced locally wherever possible. From firm favourites to a changing roster of delicious treats – plus our popular Specials board, a scrummy kids’ menu and a great wine list. Couple all that with our friendly waiting-on staff and you have the perfect dining experience.
We do take walk-ins, however it’s always best to book a table to avoid disappointment. Especially if it’s for larger parties where we might need to do a little reshuffle in the restaurant area.
